He was a great fan of Picasso and said that he was influenced by him, however I can't really see the connection of both their art works except maybe the abstract. The closest piece of artwork done by Picasso the some what seems Mondrian might have based his works off of was called 'Dove Of Peace Puzzle';
Going back to Mondrian,
he traveled to many places such as Paris, where he fell in love with ballroom dancing, The Netherlands, where he was born (1872), London and New york where he finally died of pneumonia (1944).
Until 1906 he was actually called Mondriaan but then he changed it to Mondrian to fit in, but really, it's just an a and it sounds the same with or without it, so taking it out, kind of pointless.
Finally, one thing not many people would know or guess was he was on a diet called the 'Haye Diet' as you can probably guess, created by Dr. Haye. It's a very strict diet, so when you think about it he went to Paris, OK think of all the food, but all his friends said he was very loyal to it.
Those some of the more interesting facts about Piet Mondrian.
