No Impact Man
No Impact man is a book and documentary about a man and his family going a year making 'no impact' or some what erasing their eco-footprint, they didn't but take-out food, took away their TV. washed their clothes in a bathtub, a company loaned them a solar panel and so on. This was their project. Image going without things like TV or a washing machine, normally I don't think about those things but this documentary did and I realized just how much I like my TV, and how much easier life is with a dishwasher and such. I also realized how much people waste, not just garbage but energy and water etc. People but things they don't need and unnecessarily use up energy, they drive cars all over the place and pollute, a lot, really. Think about it, how many times have you had a car ride when you could have walked or biked? I mean of course in the winter it is way easier and more convenient, and warmer, so I'm not say you must walk everywhere, no. It's just I thought about all the waste and it's horrible. So I've challenged myself to not leaving the hall lights on at all not even turning them on, I know it's small but everything counts right? Right.
